This article includes the UWP audio and video apps that I use in my daily life. I hope you like them!
Why use UWP?#
UWP, as a cross-platform application framework promoted by Microsoft during the Windows 10 era, its inherent sandbox mechanism has also caused many apps to be unable to fully demonstrate their capabilities (both good and bad). This has led to its ecosystem not flourishing until it was replaced, and domestic vendors no longer develop and maintain software for it.
But it is precisely because of this that UWP-based apps can protect some of the remaining privacy in the Internet era, as well as the visual enjoyment brought by the unified design language of Fluent Design.
Many UWP-based apps have started to transition to the Windows App SDK, which abandons the cross-platform feature but gives the apps more capabilities. This article will also introduce these types of apps. They used to be UWP apps too
Audio Apps#
LyricEase#
LyricEase is a third-party client for Netease Cloud Music. It has a delicate interface and is very stable after several years of development. The entire app is very streamlined, without any social features (such as comments), giving you a pure music listening experience. LyricEase is not open source.

HyPlayer#
HyPlayer is an open-source third-party client for Netease Cloud Music. The interface design is slightly inferior to LyricEase, but it has more powerful features (basically covering the main features of the official Netease Cloud Music client) and social functions. It also supports Romanization conversion.

HotWords#
HotWords is a desktop lyrics software that can be used with LyricEase and HyPlayer. It supports many desktop clients, and you can view the specific list on the GitHub project page. It is an essential software for desktop lyrics.
Apple Music Preview#
Apple Music released a client for Windows earlier this year. Now, six months have passed, and major experiences such as scrolling lyrics (without word-by-word lyrics) and lossless audio quality have been implemented. However, stability is still lacking, with frequent crashes and playback issues, which interrupt the user experience. The advantage of the native app is that the web version of Apple Music cannot play lossless audio, but it has word-by-word lyrics and is less prone to crashes.

Video Apps#
Bili#
Bili is a third-party client for Bilibili. It has fewer features, but it has functions that the mobile version recommends, such as fixing UPs/videos to the upper left corner, which are not available on the official web version. It can generate BBDown commands to help users download videos. It is open source, and its simple and concise interface is also a plus. However, due to the lawyer's letter sent by the official and the author's lack of time, the update speed is currently slow.

Bilibili UWP#
Bilibili UWP is a third-party client for Bilibili. Compared to Bili, it has multi-tab functionality and a long history. It has more comprehensive features and is now maintained by yumoyue.
